Billboard is an american magazine which covers a wide spectrum of music artists ranging from Beyonce, Kayne West or Lady Gaga. Billboard is easily identifiable to the reader through its use of logo; billboard use bright colours such as lime green and yellow to contrast against the warm colours of the background. The simple layout and white from differ greatly from standard magazine conventions such as tag lines as shown by Ray Gun. Billboard have included a clear colour scheme consisting the colours of white and browns which would separate it from many other magazines on the shelf as it is an unusual set of colours to use. The portrait style picture used of Beyonce creates immediate eye contact with the reader drawing their attention the the front cover opposed to a picture which may have been taken in a profile style showing only the side of the artists face. Another thing that is typical of all magazines to do not just music ones, is having someone looking flawless on the cover. Beyonce has perfect skin, although it has been edited it looks perfect. However if the picture had not been edited and we had seen some of her natural flaws this may prevent people from purchasing the magazine.
